Well --- It has been a week of extremes! Last weekend was 80+ degrees and I was able to enjoy the wonderful early morning view from the deck. This weekend is cold, blustery, and we have had snow showers. By next Spring the 40 degree temps will feel like a heat wave but right now, it feels cold. Brrrrrr

You can tell it is fall when the bees are so very busy collecting nectar from my sedum plants. I don't mind watching the honey bees but I really do not like the wasps that also hang around. There was even a butterfly feeding.

I actually have some significant yardage used to report. Wow!! Brenda's quilt is completely finished after much naughty language. I don't think my machine liked the thread I had picked out, so it had temper tantrums all week, but I got it quilted. Brenda is happy to have it done since it has been in the UFO pile for quite a while. It is perfect timing, since she is in the process of buying a house and selling her condo. The quilt will work for a housewarming addition.

Hugs to all and make sure you hop over to Patchwork Times to see what others are doing.

Hugs, Beth

  1. Congratulations on a very fine finish! I laughed with you about your temperature observations; yes, yes, 40 degrees in the Spring always does feel warm, but not now!

    1. Hi Vic, I must have been visiting you and your cute song, while you were visiting me. Hopefully, we haven't sent some of the cold & snow your way! I like how the quilting turned out on Brenda's quilt.

  2. Beautiful view and your flowers are gorgeous. Great quilt and I really like your dotty dresden plate quilt in your header.

    1. Hi Dee Dee, My sedums are like flowers on steroids. They get humongous. Eventually I will get the Dotty Dresden quilted but I don't feel confident enough to quilt it myself yet. A lot more practice is needed. Nice to hear from you.

  3. Beautiful flowers. How do you get rid of the wasps? We seem to get more as I add flowers, and I'm allergic to their stings.

    1. The sedums are always so beautiful in the fall. I haven't been able to get rid of the wasps but there appear to be less of them when there are a lot honey bees working the flowers. So far I have never been stung and I hope to continue that way.
