SKOL! BOM and Aardvark

Sorry, couldn't resist saying "SKOL" I am waiting in nervous anticipation for the Vikings/Eagles game to start.

While waiting for game time, I am cutting some more pieces for the borders of my Journey's End quilt. Since this was a BOM and the fabrics were included, it takes longer to cut all those pieces from the kit fabrics then if it was a true scrappy quilt. I have a lot of scraps already cut or strips in the correct dimensions.

Last Tuesday at Country Fabrics, I started the HandiQuilter Ruler of the Month. Received the first ruler (Pillbox), now there must be a quilt I can use it on. Right now I have a back for a Tula Pink quilt loaded on the frame and have already decided how I am going to quilt it.

At Colorz Quilt Shop in Brainerd, they have started a stash BOM using the desk calendar "Inspiring Stitches" by Heartland Heritage. It is a twelve month program. Looks like fun and I think I am going to start it but I have to use only my own stash.  Sounds like a plan. LOL

Last time I was a Grubers Quilt Shop in St. Cloud, MN, I couldn't resist the following Aardvark pattern. Thought it would be a good cushion for when people end up sitting on the floor due to a shortage of places to sit. Have to admit, I adore most everything that Pam makes.

Well, off to cut some more pieces and wait impatiently for the football game to start.

Go VIKINGS!!!

SKOL!! SKOL!! SKOL!! SKOL!! SKOL!! SKOL!! SKOL!! SKOL!! SKOL!! SKOL!! SKOL!!

Catching up!

It is time to catch up with doings of 2017. My youngest daughter, Brenda, was married September 2, 2017. Since I am not at all biased, I think they are such a cute couple. The new son-in-law, Scott, is from Wisconsin and is a Green Bay Packer fan in Viking territory. For Christmas I could not resist having a little fun at his expense and sewed him  a "Packer Crying Pillow." Not sure he appreciated his new MIL. LOL

Since Brenda received vintage china as a wedding gift, I thought Scott should receive something that he would enjoy. Couldn't resist making him a deer quilt, since he is such a hunter/fisher person.

"
Just finished up placemats that are gifts. The pattern I used is "Take Four." Four FQ's stacked, cut and rearranged makes four placemat tops.
Set of 4 placemats with a little hedge-hog print.
Two sets of four (8 total).

Since I have two retreats coming up, it is time to start cutting and organizing projects. The one that is currently being cut is the border for "Journey's End" by Kim Diehl.

There are so many projects to catch up with. Since we have moved up to Aitkin, MN, I have been having so much fun going to guild meetings, meeting new people, and being so close to everything. What fun!

New Beginnings

2017 is over! The holidays are done and the house is getting back in order after our Christmas/New Years weekend. So I feel like doing some "New Beginnings." Over the last year and a half there have been many changes and so much going on. Blogging (which is my on-line journal) has been severely neglected and it is so easy to forget all the completions and happenings.

For 2018, the plan is to complete 10 UFO's. I am not going to list them because there are so many and it is nice to have the freedom to complete any thing that inspires me.

There are new projects that would be fun to start. After all, a person needs new challenges to keep us interested. Also, I am still in the stage of meeting new people since our move to the Aitkin MN area.

Looking forward to a lot of fun in 2018, hope you will join me on my journey over the next year.

Hugs, Beth
