Catching Up

Last week I was at a quilt retreat by the Amana Colonies in Iowa. It was a terrific time with a group of good friends. We retreat together 3 - 4 times per year. Needless to say, it was interesting getting back to Minnesota due to the snow storm. We ended up staying overnight in Clear Lake, Iowa on Thursday evening and heading for home Friday morning. Of course stops were made at shops along the way. We stopped at SR Harris in South Minneapolis. It was my first time to this location. Definitely need to have a plan when going there to shop.

At retreat I worked on a quilt top that I won as a door prize (Cambridge Square- pictured below) at our Ripple River Quilt Guild in Aitkin, MN. Needless to say, I needed to win a whole big quilt like I needed another hole in the head (Very Big Grin--), so I decided to cut all the pieces right away and work on it at retreat. It will make a good donation in Camp Knutson by Crosslake, Minnesota.

So far this year I have been working on UFO's and hope to make progress. There are a lot of tops to finish quilting, as well as, tops ready to be put together. Have a couple of Bonnie Hunter quilts where the blocks are all pieced and just ready to be put together.

I finished piecing a top started several years ago at a February retreat I attended. It is called "Black, White, & Bright." It still needs to be quilted and bound. Hoping to get it completed this year!!

Completely finished another fun quilt that is so nostalgic.  It reminds me of the early years of marriage when we went out into the swamp and cut Christmas trees for us and my husbands family.

It has been a good feeling to start finishing up some of the quilt projects around the house. Another quilt that I quilted for my "Ladies of the Lake" quilt group has been moved out of the house. Some other deserving member (LOL) gets to do the binding.

                              Hugs, Beth
